Nirenberg City Council Campaign Starts Strong
Campaign raises more than $20,000 in first week
ALEXANDRIA, VA – The Campaign of City Council candidate Darryl Nirenberg today announced that as of May 13, it had raised more than $20,000 from more than 40 donors, with more than $18,500 in the door. Nirenberg filed to run on May 6th.
“I am humbled by, and grateful for, the strong early support. Most of the contributions came in unsolicited, which tells me our campaign is striking a nerve — residents sense our city government has lost its way, and they want no part of policies such as adult housing on school grounds, road diets, neglected storm drains and more density in the midst of a pandemic.” said Darryl.
“As I meet residents from across our city, I am hearing some common themes: That having diverse perspectives on our city council will produce better decisions, and that it is time to bring common sense government back to Alexandria.”
Nirenberg is an attorney and a first time candidate. A 22 year resident of Alexandria, he and his wife Lori live in the Northridge neighborhood, where they raised their two children, Drew and Kelly, and their faithful dog, Presley. They recently welcomed a pandemic puppy, Gatsby.
